So Many Ideas, So Little Time

I have so many writing ideas. But with other responsibilities in my life right now, my writing time is limited.

I have about 3 hours a day I set aside for writing and 3 projects I'd like to finish soon.

I keep a kitchen timer in my desk drawer and set it for an hour when I start the first project. Even if I get interuppted I still stick to the one hour (unless there is an urgent deadline) and move on to the next project.

This is a new system for me. It will be interesting to see how it works out!

Finding Time to Write

Many people face the challenge of time management and I am definitely one of them!

I long to write every day but don't always find time. I will be in the shower, doing dishes or driving down the road and think of a great blog topic. But then poof! it is gone by the time I find time to sit down and write a few days or week later.

The key phrase for me is "find time to sit down and write". Writing is now a priority and I will make time each day.

Simplicity

Simplicity is the word that swirls around in my brain lately. I want my life to be simple. And how do I accomplish that?

Getting rid of "material stuff" has helped me immensely. The more "stuff" I have, the more time I spend taking care of it all. And that definitely takes away from my writing time. Letting go of "things" has definitely simplified my life and given me a sense of freedom.

Getting rid of "emotional stuff" has also simplifed my life. When my brain is full and my emotions are racing I can't think straight, much less work on a manuscript. Letting go of harsh opinions, judgemental thoughts, anger and selfishness has freed me to pursue my dream and passion....writing!

Wow, It's Been A Long Time!

It's been a long time since I've posted here.

Much has happened this year. After a six month marathon of repairs, reorganizing, staging furniture, packing and multiple showings we sold our house.

For years we've dreamed of buying an RV and hitting the road after retirement. Well, we're not quite old enough to retire yet (LOL) but we are now living in our new RV fulltime. And we love it! There is nothing better than the simple life of RV living.

Needless to say, my writing suffered the first 6 months of 2007 because of our crazy schedule.

However, now that we are settled in our new home, I will be here more often sharing about my writing journey.
